An issues paper providing background information and some key questions to guide written submissions is available on the from the APOA office.
The submission period closes 13 April 2018.
Further information about Taskforce Flaxton will be made available on the APOA and CCC’s website in the lead-up to the hearing which is expected to be held in May 2018.
Brian Newman said "it's rare that these opportunities come about for the Prison industry and it should be considered by all stakeholders as an opportunity to express concerns and make submissions with a view to improving the standards of not just employment within the industry, but also the greater agenda of suppressing corruption within the walls of our Prisons which has a real and sometimes ever lasting legacy for stakeholders, including Prison Officers, our families, Prisoners and their families and agency and minor stakeholders who might all be concerned with the agenda of improving the measurable outcomes within the industry".
For more information or to make submissions to the inquiry via the APOA, please contact our office on 07 3807 3807 or email brian.newman@workersfirst.com.au
